20 September — 11 October 2013
At the invitation of Documents d’artistes, In extenso, a contemporary art organization based in Clermont-Ferrand since 2002, acting on its own territory as well as on a national level – will invest the Petirama from September 20 to October 11 with Du clocher on voit la mer (“From the tower one can see the sea”), its new offsite project.
Pursuing the double imprint of both partners on their respective territories on the one hand, and in the internationalized contemporary art networks, on the other hand, the exhibition will address the concepts of common culture and specificities … or how one can fit – and act as individuals, artists, or even art structures – in a local environment, and at the same time be involved in a global network. The works included in this exhibition will focus on showing the tenuous ties that bind the individual to the group, the group to the world, local cultures and global knowledge and with them, the past to the present, an alive and shifting present.
